The advantages of Capella®
Words by

As the number of e-commerce transactions continues to grow, expectations around speed of delivery, returns, and service levels increase. The world of logistics and distribution needs to respond swiftly, in sustainable ways, to these market needs.
With Capella®, we’ve questioned how to service our end users with the right technological breeding ground that enables them to keep up and stay ahead in this ever-changing world.
Turning the model around
Traditionally, installing this technological breeding ground is the responsibility of end users and is often only added after the development is completed. We felt it was our responsibility to turn this model around and therefore, Capella® offers their end users this technological breeding ground upon delivery.
A unique alliance
Conceived by Stellar Development and Heembouw, Capella® is a unique alliance between innovative specialists TRILUX, FiberUnlimited, Mymesh, and Inotec. It provides each Stellar Development destination with connectivity, light, wireless sensors, climate control, and emergency lighting.
Capella® supports robotization and various Internet of Things (IoT) applications, for now and in the future. By using smart sensors and software, Capella® can provide customers with valuable data by measuring various aspects of the building.
An important step forward
Capella® is an important step forward in the sustainable transition. Traditional data networks often still use an average of 1.7 km of copper cabling per 100 m2. Because the Capella® network is laid out in a ring configuration and uses the lighting infrastructure, at least 80% less cable is used, 70% less IT hardware is required, and 30% is saved on energy consumption. FiberUnlimited’s POF cable lasts at least 30 years, is reusable, fully recyclable, and produces 10 times less CO₂ than traditional copper cabling. In addition, TRILUX is one of the first lighting manufacturers to commit to fully classified analyses with environmental product declarations. This gives end users and building owners insight into the CO₂ impact of the products in accordance with the requirements of the national environmental database.
