Summer
We love to revisit our destinations to learn how people navigate them and to experience how Nature is naturally weaving together with Functionality. Which, in the case of Ara Almelo, can be taken quite literally.
The net on the ecological screen was hand-woven in 14 weeks.

On a great summer day in June 2025, Schotpoort Logistics welcomed us at Ara Almelo to document how our architectural vision has come to life. Surrounded by greenery, we captured the design decisions that define the destination and observed how Nature is already beginning to shape its surroundings.
Ara Almelo is designed to be both efficient and inspiring. For example, the entrances align with the pattern of the ecological screen surrounding the destination. By using high-quality, natural materials and natural color palettes, it becomes a destination where people truly feel and experience the destination.

Ara Almelo is unique because of how it blends in naturally with the scenic semi-open Twente landscape, with plots divided by hedges and wooded banks. The unique ecological screen and the pond ensure a natural connection to this characteristic landscape.
Behind the characteristic ecological screen, Ara Almelo was designed as efficiently as possible. The inside world contains offices, distribution warehouses, and parking spaces.
We had a great day capturing the destination in the bright light of summer. We would like to thank Schotpoort Logistics for the warm welcome.
